I had said I'd post this, but life's been crazy (in the middle of a move again), so forgive me.
I'll be ordained as a pastor in the tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America this coming Friday evening at 7:30pm. The rite of ordination is an act of faith, but it's an artsy kind of rite...music, oration, etc. I know (and appreciate) we're from varied backgrounds here, but any and all are welcome. This community ahs helped my sanity throughout everything leading to this point in my life....
The service with ordination will be, like I said, this Friday evening
7:30pm
Emmanuel Lutheran Church
2589 Chain Bridge Road
Vienna, Virginia 22181
Dress can be as formal or as casual as you like (I'll be wearing a white dress and red scarf/alb and stole over black underwear/clerical collar).
If you can't make it in person, but you can offer up a thought or prayer, I'd appreciate it too (and maybe also on behalf of the congregation in Middletown, Connecticut that doesn't know how much sophomoric verse is headed their way on line after line of iambic pentamenter...).
Thanks,
joel
