Commonties is paying $50 for your answer to one of their 20 questions.

Artists probably also are getting paid to illustrate the answers (the same amount? I donno. Can't find that answer but if you can figure it out, let me know).

On Fridays, they are publishing the best submissions. They call them "jeles"
Jele (noun, pronounced "jelly"): Obscure journalism jargon for a showcase story that lasts through the weekend.

Aren't these cool?

These are also what they are calling "orphans" - meaning they've already bought the answers but don't have artwork yet

So, if you are an artist and want to illustrate one of the answers, do it!

This site used to publish short personal true stories (similar to our "Snippets") but they have changed their format to publish these "jeles."

Just saying, don't know how long it will last because they didn't have the story thing last forever (which was very cool since they also had audio to the stories and you could get paid for writing as well as reading your own story).

Jump on this artists and writers! It looks like lots of fun and it's hard to find a spot on the net which is willing to pay us to do what we love to do, right?

If you submit any, let us know. Would love to read your answers and see your illustrations!

Break a leg!

WOW! I'm going to go and do one of these, with an illustration, right now. Did you say they paid money? Well, even if not, this is too cool. Who wouldn't want to talk about themselves and get it published, I mean we're all just so damn interesting....
