i kept telling myself the navigation sucks and so does the front page.

this project will never be done.

i love it too much.

OK, so all these people, like 4 or 5 of my respected advisors, advised me that the front page with all the rollovers and the acronym studio eight thing was bogus and took too long to load and wasn't dynamic.

And i agreed ...

so i redesigned the front page.

That's the best I can do for now. It's sorta cheesy but it loads in a micro-second!

and it's not nearly as cheesy as the first one.....

onward and upward

the internet is a living organism.

Here's the new front page if you'd like to take a look or even if you wouldn't, it will still be there

I have come to the conclusion that you can't have too many white boards or ties.

I can't tell if you guys like it or not from your replies. But that's OK. I like it! ...

As a graphic designer for the past 15 years, I go by the principles that there are two rules... always... always always...

1- No more than 2 fonts. All fonts must match. (meaning headline fonts must match headline fonts, body fonts much match body fonts, throughout.... always!)

and

2- White space is Everything!

Of course, just like any art, people's taste in graphic design is subjective. This is why some people read the Archetectural Digest and others read rags like the National Enquirer.

I really like it Doreen
I dig the abstract art

Its definitely easier and faster to load and something about the artwork and the layout make it look more profession, I can't really pinpoint it- maybe its because it reminds me of something I would see on the walls of a waiting room at the doctor's office...

I like it!

the waiting room of a doctor's office? LOL! arghhhhhhhhhhhh

OK, you convinced me. It sucks.

It's totally unnatural, totally commercial.

I'm a sellout.

heh... i'm just kidding with you, Lucy!, you sweet gal you...

Yeah, it loads more quickly and i think that's a good thing....

I like it!

but I also like the paintings in my dentist's office which his daughter, who is also a dentist does. It's a great series... sorta like sand relief mosaics, but done with paint.... all very simple... simple forms and shapes... Her's aren't geometic, though, more free flowing... But simple, way different than say pollack's dribbles.... Big areas of balance in color, tone, and arrangement.....

The cool thing is the series of it, which is what I'm going to do with the navigation pages, I hope... They'll all look similar, but different. This is my art. I use a computer to achieve it. Dammit! but hell, if I can't put my personality in it, then why bother, y'know?

If it's just for the purpose of relaying information... or displaying someone else's purpose, than that's a good purpose, but it leaves me a little out in the dark. Or cold. Or something.

I'm rambling.

Thanks for looking, Lucy, and for your comments.....

I appreciate that something I've created comforts you
