KnoxFilmmakers.com launch

Post by neologistic » June 5th, 2011, 5:33 pm

Thanks to Doreen for helping out with the banner, we had transparency and font issues and she got us fixed lickety split

A local friend and film maker (we just won Best Cinematography and Best Use of Music for a 30-team competition where we had to develop and shoot a 2-4 minute film in 24 hours) has asked me to help develop his new site for the East Tennessee film community, and here's what we've come up with so far:

http://www.knoxfilmmakers.com

While we are focused on East Tennessee, we certainly won't turn down any visitors from "out of town" ;)

Congrats to Jacob for winning two awards with our film "Conversations With Streetlights." I'm excited to see what he does with his prizes: One free jib rental, one free dolly rental, a year of free premium audio services, and a top-notch 3D Workshop.

I'll post a link to our movie soon when it is online

Congratulations to you and Jacob and all involved with the film!

Looking forward to you posting it so all can see it. I'd give you the green light if I could.

hell, i don't even got no gas no ways, i'm on the highway walking to get some fuel. crap, the sun's in my eyes, can't tell if that's yellow or red. wait, is it out? blinking yellow? i didn't read that part in the handbook, i'm going to assume it means i'm supposed to do a handstand and try to sing the modern major general's song. that's probably humanly impossible without popping something important. wait, i forgot, i'm a pedestrian! saved again! wait, when do i know when and where to walk?! oh, i'm going to sleep for awhile, maybe the light repair workers will know what to do, or need someone to work. hey, there's an idea, "i'll take one!" oh man i hope he has chili

I've written some of my best pieces after staying up all night. ;)

You just got me dizzy
don't ya know?
Red means stop
and green means go,
that's the safety rule and so
put the pedal to the metal
while the light is green
but watch your speed
if you know what i mean.

Crazy rules of the road.
It's a heavy load
to bear
but as long as you know where
you're going, who cares? ;)

You say you're walking?
Long way.... but at least
you won't break down
and have to get towed.
Crazy rules of the road.

I thought it was a good movie james. Maybe not funny to me in a ha ha sense but funny as in eerie, the sound track was very well done I thought.
"memories are like internal rivers, you never know..."

good work james, excellent looking website and if the rest of the movies are as good as Conversation with Streetlights you going to be be busy.

thanks again for all your work here.

Late at night down on the Superstition Street
I see my pretty Alice in every streetlight

Oh yeah neologic I liked that movie a lot

it had it all
like a feature length film distilled down to a few minutes.

I think the narrator actually says "memories are like internal rumors" but i like rivers better. thanks, i didn't come up with the plot for it, but did have a hand in a couple scenes, and i'm the guy that gets knocked down lol

I think rumors works better
rumors you never know
like sometimes I never know about my memories

where as rivers flow to the sea
