NOTES FROM DOREEN PERI:

The Poet, Lightning Rod, has cataracts and is going blind. He cannot afford the expensive operation since the US has no Universal Healthcare system and Medicaid isn't paying for his operation. He's also recently had a larynxectomy from cancer so this is a poet who cannot speak and cannot see to write.

If you can't be there, please feel free to donate and send your donations by Paypal.

Michael Cates is the Save the Poet's Eyes treasurer.
Go to http://paypal.com/
Click the "Send Money" tab at the top of the page and follow the prompts to send money to Michael's account for this event using this email address:

mocat777@gmail.com

PS.. although my name is listed as a poet performer, unfortunately I will not be able to attend due to financial restraints. I can't get there. I don't know what to do to help other than to post these links and support the cause by inviting people to attend the fabulous concert and/or donate via paypal. Thank you again! Lightning Rod needs your help!

Looks like I'm going to be there after all..... I'll read a poem or two and bring a painting for the silent auction. :)
