my lips are like
cut and dried
pomegranets
all puffy
but dried in the sun
raisins
dreams deferred
lost incurred
survivor of sadness
at the edge of a curve
gladness beckons
into the light
at the end
of the tunnel
peace is at hand.

Dear Jammers
So far these jams have been a great success. Everyone has gotten into the spirit of interchange and trading inspiration and images.
The collaborative concept has worked well. Themes have been developed and elaborated. That's how a jam works in music too. Somebody throws out a theme and the other players support and elaborate upon it. It's music that forms itself in mid air and before your very eyes.
I would like to encourage you all to not hesitate to assert a new theme with words or images or pictures or music. This is not just a poetry jam, this is a jam for all the arts that we can manage to cram into our rolling cyber magazine.
In a jam, by it's very definition, you don't know what is going to happen until it happens. But every jam starts out with a drumbeat or a bass line. Here is my suggestion:
Let's start out with the concept of ancestors and descendants. Priors and progeny. What came before and what goes after.
That's the bass line.
I'm not trying to dictate a theme here. Take it anywhere you want. It's just a starting place.
This jam goes on for twenty-four hours. We have some time for evolution.
Come out jammin'!
