For a look at something quite new, try sampling the fumetti ( comix) at my young friend GIPI's site ( Gian Alfonso Pacinotti).
The fact that the whole site is in Italian shouldn't deter you. Just look at the wonderful pictures-- comix, illustrations, and other pictures:
