Doom of man 1

Post by Shem » November 5th, 2006, 2:59 am

Lets try this again....
Image
Leave the letter that never begins to go find the latter that ever comes to end, written in smoke and blurred by mist and signed of solitude, sealed of night.

I Am Love

Post by BambiPurrs » November 5th, 2006, 6:14 am

I Am Love

I am that fiery shining in your eyes
the reason for your pounding heart
the rushing blood
into your face
I am here
with you
again

Again,
with you,
I am here
the butterflies
fluttering inside you
tongue-tied, trembling hands,
I am that dizziness in your head

I am that thumping, jumping in your chest
the reason you cannot think clearly
the silliest grin
on your lips
I am here
with you
again

Again,
with you,
I am here
the sunny days
so brightly burning
the heartache, the yearning
I am that craving you cannot relieve

I am that sigh escaping from your lips
the reason you walk past that door
the warmest blanket
on cold nights
I am here
with you
again

Tears

Post by BambiPurrs » November 5th, 2006, 6:16 am

TEARS

I come
from deep within your soul
I come
with tidings again
I'm not the joy
you've known before
I'm not relief
upon your features
but I'm here
again
with you.

I come
to taunt you once again
I come
with furrowed confusion
I am that crease
upon your brow
and I am here
again
with you.

I come
to play upon your heart
I come
to sing my song
I am that melody
around quivering lips
and I am here
again
with you.

I come
with bitter flames that sear
I come
with consuming intentions
I am the inferno
incinerating you
and I am here
again
with you.

IMAGES

Images upon the glass,
images to look, and laugh.
Images to cry about,
images with no way out.

Corruption

Post by BambiPurrs » November 5th, 2006, 6:21 am

Corruption

A test of character unknown,
when pressed, unduly, by higher seeds sown;
the treachery disguised by pay
unleashes forces to their dismay.
The peons, clearly, cleverly victimized,
are set upon and anesthesized.
Revolt is imminent when sacrifice
is made from those lower, not sharing that life.

A deathly pallor casts its' sheen,
and eventually, by those corrupt seen;
the backlash then, so long past due
will crash them all with vengeance anew.
The crop thus far emits a stench
that causes a peon's jaw to clench.
A higher-up cannot betray,
and expect an honest man to stay.

The bird will sing, though in a cage,
releasing all its pent-up rage.
And when, perchance, the greedy ones
discover that their deeds, now done,
have been, much like Pandora's box,
opened, exposed, and secrets unlocked,
their own dismay at being caught
will prove a peon's pain in not for naught.

To blow the whistle is sweet revenge,
and such a rightful, fitting end.

LIFE OF AGES OF HIM

Post by BambiPurrs » November 5th, 2006, 6:22 am

LIFE OF AGES OF HIM

The milky, midnight moon
is misty, wet, and glistens;
silence, when He listens,
sheds it's single skin so soon.

Grass of golden grains
wave whispering in the wind...
silence, when we sinned;
sift our souls, save nothing remains.

The blue breeze blows behind;
sees our searing dreams recede;
To bounce back from below, succeed;
simply, life's contract we have signed.

Shem and Bambi... thank you so much for your submissions! I've got them and saved them to the book project folder in folders with your name on them.

We will be back in touch after we go through the manuscript process and let you know which ones we'll use in the book.

Fine work here! Thanks again!

Hope you both will also participate in the "8 Images in Search of a Poet" Book Event.

Very nice to meet you, too, Jim

Ahh even in this world's modernizations and dramatic changes, Tucson still clutches her shadowy image of romance and primitive toughness tightly to her bosom, allowing it out to romp from time to time.
