it's not that easy to be a private
boot camp is hell
and you have lots of fights there
not like being ab officer
where you go for a gentleman's training course
always treated with respect

a private ain't got no respect
from nobody
and when you tell them you are against the war
they screw you

when an officer says that,
they threaten you with court martial
but leave you alone to ponder
and maybe toss you in the slammer
and then maybe bust you to private
and then screw you

as a private i would have been a grunt
and then would have been killed
or not, maybe gotten greivous wounds
or not

but no legacy to fulfil
staying close to the low points.
