I wish I could lay some words on you jimbo, I wish surfer mike or mingo or mtmynd or any of the other veterans were here to say something helpful

I thought about you again today while I was watching a TV show about a pilot who flew a flying coffin during the war.
Something about learning to live with fear, but what do I know about fear, I am just a four f hippie conscientious objector.

Pot or not
maybe one man's meat another's medicine
who knows
I gave up when I was on the road cause I could not make the long hauls when I was wired on pot. Oh it was okay for the first couple of days but after the first thousand miles the first day I was too wiped out to keep on trucking the second day, unless I wanted to powder my nose with go-fast. I was not that ambitious, give up the pot, stay out a couple months come home and get stone and wait a week go out and do it again. These days it is not much paranoia involved in it.

These days I am self employed and my boss cuts me some slack on my meds

Wes: The service records found with the patches list Potter as a B-24 pilot with the 320th Squadron of the 90th Bombardment Group, from 1942 to 1943.
Where was he stationed?

Mike: Well, one of the places that he was stationed was New Guinea.
Wes: New Guinea was a frontline in the Pacific War.
So, he got the Distinguished Flying Cross. Was it with the, with the rest of this stuff?
Mike: No, it wasn’t with it. It was just the patches and the papers.
Wes: Mike Says Potter’s medals appear to have come at a price.
Mike: Very severe combat service. Seven emergency landings in a row.
Wes: “Present emotional status: Abnormal. Terror dreams. Restlessness. Tenseness.” Wow!
Mike wants to learn more about what Potter went through in New Guinea, and whether these patches can help unlock that story.
Wes: While it’s not clear from the documents if Potter was in that attack, Chuck says the 25 year old was certainly in the thick of the fighting. He notes that out of 46 missions that Potter flew, 26 were attacked by enemy planes.
And then you come over here to his personality estimate and present emotional status, “abnormal”, operational fatigue, “mild”, under severity.
Chuck: Right. It looks like the way they’ve got it underlined here, uh, friends or colleagues killed, is the, the specific, uh, combat experience. He has the startle reaction, bad dreams, restlessness, and tenseness. They’re just beginning to figure out what we would call PTSD. What they called combat fatigue or combat exhaustion.
Wes: Chuck explains that the post traumatic stress disorder, which Potter almost certainly had, leaves a complex and potentially long lasting psychological scar. But during World War II, it was not so well understood.

Everyone whose been in the service has PTSD to some extent.
Biological clocks get out of wack just keeping the hours you have to keep. :(
Combat sucks! But somebody's got to do it. Not everyone is a "hero".
Some just do "the job" & get out & away from the limelight.
Scroll down, if you get the blues...

So are we done with this emulation of a 1960s anti-marijuana high school film?

Stick with your fucking booze and poison psychotropics if you like.

what ever happened to free white and twenty one :?

war sucks but somebody always got to do it
is it human nature or a disease called man?

I used to feel guilty about being a four f hippie conscientious objector till a old man who had been on Corregidor during world war one part two told me that I should feel grateful that I missed out on the southeast Asian war games, "don't feel guilty, feel grateful" he told me.

2014 be a hundred years since the peace to end all wars
I used to be smart.

Oh yeah, I had a.series of flashbacks,
Photographic. Very real. I was, unfortunately, an ace with a .38 and psychic. I'd blank them after, nonplussed.

So, I gotta get my computer hooked up.
computer hooked up to a heavenly gates of jam streams from terabytes of terrors
why am i thinking of you tonight?
