That song got me through some bad nights better than Nietzsche even.
“Where is that man who has forgotten words that I may have a word with him?”

Lonesome And A Long Way From Home
by Bonnie Bramlett and Leon Russell

Out on an open highway,
Such a lovely day but something's wrong.
Something, something's gotta be wrong.

I just left home this morning,
This old road keeps rolling on and on.
Rolling, rolling on and on.

Won't somebody help me?
Won't somebody help me?
Won't somebody help me?

I've never been so lonesome and long way from home,
Never been lonesome and long way,
Never been lonesome and long way from home.

Bridge

thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.

we got a table here, folks. a table to be afraid of, not that it is intentionally threatening, infact it is all in good celebration

Happy Feast!

but we will be afraid when we see the table and who the guests are, because it is so magnificent. thank goodness it wears a smile!

are you ready?

first of all, while we are setting this table together, can't do it without you.

as i said before, the major religions have reached a demographic stability here on planet earth. some of them are more mighty then others here on earth. and these guests at the feast are all present here on earth in the form of these select surviving major religions, and this is wonderful. when you see this, they will all come alive.
and this is scary. ganja is scary too, but this is not on the menu. our table is a spiritual one and we come to this gathering in spirit, not as matter. however, we must have signs to help us on our journey, and these signs are the honored guests, with us in tow kicking and dragging our feet as we go, because we are trully afraid. we have to have courage, just like the lion following the yellow brick road to oz, with his companions. He was agraid of the wizard, but he overcame his fear and was no longer afraid of oz.

the warp and weave of the universe has no end.
energy, matter, spirit
logos and spirit

this is so beautiful it is scary
and you know it.

the tao is god's sanctuary too
and god is both logos and spirit
in his home in heaven
as logos is both energy and matter
all creation
and the spirit flows through the deeps
on yes it does

we guests are here trembling
i cannot trespass upon the sanctuary of the sacred
without some help as i am afraid and for good measure
this is the will of the wisp and cannot be changed no matter what

and the wisp is no trifling matter

the tao and the tree of life tell us everything we neeed to know
and as we come to the table we see that these are not our enemies but our friends, but we have been afraid, however, now we need not be so afraid of each other, as there is something even greater to be afraid of and he wears a smile.

we are ready now. when we pass throu this frae, that will never leave us, lest we forget what we have made to offer each other,

pot luck ya know.

i have to say this now, as this is a blessing that has come out of my cursing, and ya never know what the next heartbeat could bring, trepidation, go softly where angels trespass please

god is seen in the tao, but is not god himherself
but we can see god's pleasure in this as well as the warp and weave of the universe

flowing matter through space is concrete reality, from big bang to expansion and collapse it goes, and as it goes outward, where we are now, thankgoodness, you can see there is a pulse here, folks, the pulse of matter is energy, made possible by the absolute two ingredients that accompany matter, attraction and repulsion in eternal harmony, amen.

the tree of life is where things become less abstract and more personal, less scary. because this is a representation of the garden of eden, which in reality is our blessed planet earth which we inhabit as homosapiens. the tree comes first as alive matter with roots in mineral, tasting water, breathing air, and drinking in the sun. solar power. then we have the snake and the apple. forget about the people. the snake is the tao, spirit and matter in action, and the fruit is just that. the fruit falls to earth. a straight line down, not bad, this is goos. the snake has a serpintine manner as its heart is beating with delight. the snake has a consciousness. the apple and the tree less so. they are more matter and less spirit, tho the spirit is there. the snaks is not stationary and must have a higher intellect to live than either of these other two primary symbols in the scene.

the snake is really good, but it is scary.
the serpentine way of all creation with a beating heart
kalpa to kalpa each heartbeat of the snake goes.

meanwhile the apple is growing as the snake waits. the snake does not eat fruits, not usually.

here come some people, oh my!
the apple falls onto eve's head
and she is disturbed and hands it to adam
he understands gravity and so does she
it hurts
but the apple is delicious

and they want to understand why 8)

so we came from the seed of eve and adam together
out of mesopotamia
and multiplied and grew until we became legion in spirit and made a home to share our celebrations in jerusalem together as one family

and they came down in sweeping hordes on chariots
into the indus river valey
singing the creation song as they went along
and bore fruit in songs that became more refined as they went
and went down in size until only one person understood the one true thing
beyond words, he then grew his teaching and it moved, lowly and slowly, seeking the paths of lesser resistance, like a serpent it went, seeking kindred spirits
and found in china the sweetist fruit of all

a clear simple logos waiting for spirit as it makes its lowly way through us unto jerusalem as well
where we will all be invited to partake, as the tao has no true home, yet is at home in itself and at home in the universe

with this in mind, i am truly trembling now
and i have called my friend george francis to ask
for his help in baptising me, when i am ready and clean in body and spirit
and to have my wife there with me.

i am going to quaker meeting tomorrow and will ask about opportunities to attend interfaith services they have around town.

i have a standup routine i wanna do and guess what?
the joke is on us.
mercy i am sorely afraid
not of the crowd, just the joke.
i gotts be crafty, sneaky,
cause i'm on a survival mission. :P

Deep stuff Jimboloco.
O.k. I've edited my reply twice, cause I was feeling lost momentarily.

Anyway, it had me thinking of N.H's short story The Christmas Banquet, where there was many invited guests with all their particular weights and darkened personalities or from life's hazards charring on their souls. One guest, who attended every year, would be discussed as not belonging, because he seemed ideally whole and beautiful among the guests who attended with him. Nothing much weighty about him as he sat, smiled and stayed good company, nothing striking. A good read, and it reminded me so much of Dorian Grey too.
We're all welcome at the table.
Thanks much.
My apologies for not getting it exactly as maybe you'd meant it to go.
I'm faulty on many things, but dinner was delightful and conversation enlightening.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!
