Phone Call Between Husband and Wife

I got this idea recently from an actual phone call between my wife and me. It's along the lines of the old Who's on first bit of Abbot and Costello's.

Phone Call


Wife: What’re ya doin;?
Husband: Sitting on the edge of our bed.
Wife: Oh you are.
Husband: Yeah.
Wife: No, I mean oh you are.
Husband: Right, what else would I be doin’?
Wife: I mean the way you said it, oh you are.
Husband: Of course. I don’t have a job.
Wife: No, I mean our bed.
Husband: Who else’s bed would I be sitting on?
Wife: It’s the way you said it. It should be oh you are.
Husband: Exactly. I’m sitting on the edge of our bed because I don’t have a job.
Wife: Our bed.
Husband: Yes.
Wife: Not are bed.
Husband: Why not our bed?
Wife: You’re saying it wrong.
Husband: Saying what wrong?
Wife: Our.
Husband: How else am I s'posed to say it?
Wife: Oh you are.
Husband: Yes, I am.
Wife: No, you’re not.
Husband: I’m not?
Wife: No.
Husband: Then what am I doing?
Wife: Sitting on the edge of our bed.
Husband: That’s what I said.
Wife: No, you said are.
Husband: Yes, our bed.
Wife: So you’re sitting on the edge of our bed doing what?
Husband: Thinking.
Wife: About what?
Husband: Finding a job.
Wife: On our bed.
Husband: Yes, on our bed.
Wife: Oh you are.
Husband: Yes, I am.
Wife: But you’re still saying it wrong.
Husband: Saying what wrong?
Wife: Oh you are.
Husband: I know I am.
Wife: Good, I’m glad.
Husband: I’m glad you’re glad.
Wife: But you’re still saying it wrong.
Husband: I’m saying what wrong?
Wife: No, you’re saying our wrong.
Husband: Our wrong?
Wife: Yes
Husband: You’re saying we’re wrong?
Wife: No, you’re saying our wrong.
Husband: Look, I’m sitting on the edge of our bed thinking about where to get a job.
Wife: Oh you are.
Husband: That’s right.
Wife: I know it’s right. You’re the one who’s saying it wrong.
Husband: Was there some reason you called?


Doesn't compare to the original of course, but I thought it was cute when it came to me.
