and the crying children, shrieking babies, and the Muzak™
the man behind the blue curtain in the big box store preparing income tax returns
is autominated? is that a word for knuckle-dragging mental exhaustion?
After taking several readings
I'm surprised to find my mind's still fairly sound

back in the sixties in the psych department of the U of MD they called for volunteers for an experiment, can't remember the details, if it was noise or pain they subjected the volunteers to but one Japanese student managed to stay in the testing cubicle so long they just stopped the experiment. Afterward, they asked her how she was about to tolerate the unpleasant stimulus for so long and she answered: "I took my mind away."
