Mousey1 it is grim humor, but I can understand it. Reminds me of the gallows humor under Stalin. Of course no one laughs at it,we just nod our heads at the truth of it.
I am thinking of how pristine the white house looks, manicured lawns and fresh white paint.
1600 Pennsyvlvania avenue, such a stately street, where you seldom see a rotting corpse laying there being eaten by rats.

Well I laughed but I am sick that way.....
I laugh at the absurdity of it
I laugh sardonically
but I laugh
I have to laugh

Sorry mousey1, it just wasn't sick enough to make me laugh, now if it had a couple of bloated rotting corpses floating behind it, maybe some rats sitting on them gnawing at them, then maybe it would have got a chukkle out of me.

Great show on PBS tonight called Higher Ground a benefit concert. Between the music Danny Glover gave a lttle talk. He said Katrina did not turn NOLA into a third world city, it revealed a third world city. It revealed the disaster within a diasaster. Talk about having your head in the clouds, I been living in a myth that we have made great strides in racial equality.
