We started talking about my paintings and she asked if I remembered "the great dirty mother" and I said no but when she described it to me, I remembered painting a painting to illustrate a Carl Sandburg poem back when I was a kid. She said, "I have it." I said, "You're kidding!" and she emailed her husband, asked him to take a photo of it and email it to me.
Here it is. My attempt at illustration from when I was probably 16 years old. Carl Sandburg's poem, "Cartoon." Just thought I'd share it. I said, "Wow! Is the blue border on 2 sides part of this piece?" and she said, "Yes." Ha! Why would I do that? Who knows.

I never would have seen this piece again if it wasn't for the internet, either.
