Ascension In White
Mixed Media On Paper
22" x 30"
First piece in a series of paintings using fire escapes of NYC as a focal point. This is a piece on paper that I did in my home studio . The oil on board part of the series is being done in my rented studio and will take sometime before the first piece is done. I find this winter has really slowed down my output. It's been so long, cold and dark that I'm ffeeling drained...

may have seemed like a long heavy winter, but this work is fabulous. And the idea of a series is exciting. can't wait to see.

so you do a painting on paper
then copy it on board
i like thhe quality of board
smooth
is the paper like a slate finish?
it appears to have a textured quality, tho
maybe the paint is a bit dry
or painted on with a scapula
great gestural quality
and the ascending building
has a temple-like quality
and the deep blue sky
mercy ethereal stariways
just my escape, man

No Jimbo, I always have 2 series of work on the go one at home , one at my studio the difference here is that I am doing 2 series of works on the same subject matter. As usual the studio series will be primarily oil on board and the home works acrylic on paper....Thanks for the comment.
