ah well forgive me for my godfatherly tenderness,
but, as with gmart's painting, i wanted another look at your painting also

actually this is a good painting in terms of the craftsmanship alone
you were able to paint in flat areas of color over large areas
and then with others, modulate them by value (the blues)
what can be called innocent and sweet is also difficult to attain

i can't spread acrylics like that for sure
not with that consistency

the design work is perfect
a fantastic composition
would look good much larger
or right now
stands alone as a strong work of art
to be matted and framed and enjoyed
forgetaboutit

pixie dust for you
from illuminata
thru me
puff! lightning bugs ain't got nothing on you
puff! let it shine
puff! you light up my life

mr. jimboloco! 8) thank you kindly for all that. you honor me with your observations and generous praise. thank you very much. *she blows him a kiss*

as for consistency...i wonder if it makes a difference that i learned to paint with watercolors first before i moved to acrylics. all my techniques are self taught and thus maybe not so proper. heh. i decided to move on to acrylics because i wanted the colors to pop more. and with acrylics you get more play between flat and texture, light and dark, sheer or thick depending on how you mix & apply. i've got so much to learn still.

i thank you from my heart for your beautiful comment.

my drawing teacher always said "acrylics!" he would yell it out
in class, wearing dark glasses at night school

if i can get out of this stoner's haze i will return to drawing myself.
