Sir Hector, Oil On Routered Plywood, 24" x 24", 2010
Edge Of the Woods, Oil On Plywood,, 24": x 24", 2010
A little background, Sir Hector was a crow that my father befriended, so he moved into his house. They would have long conversations, and Sir Hector would share my Father's drink, (moonshine and coke).
Sir Hector is also a character from Don Quixote.

I never saw crows face to face, at least in this life!

Interesting how close to humans they seem to be in the northern hemisphere, thanks for the travel!

Mr. M.T. Mynd sent me over here to meet Sir Hector because he knew I would love him! Oh, and I do, very, very much!!! Both paintings are excellent but of course, the crow is dear to my heart as are any in the Raven, Crow or Grackle family.
To the Zuni's, the Raven People are the Winter People and are very strong medicine. All are clever and clowns and love shiny objects (hence my affinity.)
The short story of Sir Hector is most welcome.
In our yard we have Rod Stewart, the highest of the high in the Cypress tree grackle condo and his wife Big Mama. Rod loves to preen and dance at the top of the tree while Big Mama works her feathered butt off with the most impressive long strands of grass she gathers for her nest.
We also have The Brothers Grimm, who are either gay or really brothers (yes, animals are gay too just like the human ape and perfectly, happily so.) The Grimms are really friendly to us and always stop by for a laugh. One will watch from on high, while the other flies to the bird bath to take a dip and vicey versey.
I love those wonderful birds and their love of us and their intelligence so thank you!!!
