Irene was a regular model at the st pete art center,
a grandmama.
One of my few attempts at pastel and coloration.
I developed the initial sketch.
Hoping for salvation, I guess,
changing culture.

Since I've started going back to the art center's Saturday morning life drawing sketch group, none of the former models have been there.

They became our friends.
But the old timers are still there, sketching away.
When we get our tax refund, I wanna re-join the art center as a member. Maybe tune into a class, still there's this matter of no studio space at home.
Why the sketching will continue.
But not great big paintings. Nothin wet, for now.
Thanks.
Hope for change,
culture first.

i wonder where you learned your skills.

Yes, when I did my places rated almanac assessments way back in 1987,stuck inside of shreveport with the worldly blues again, i was concerned with several things, one of them being an art center. and after a hiatus of several months roadgoing, i settled in st pete, florita, looking for salvation.

i started there drawing saturdays in 1988, stayed regular until several years ago and now back again. there are some really old people coming there to sketch.

and teens.

but you got th black forest.
that takes the cake!
inner colors getting out.

never learned, just expressed.

an arts center would be so great, but i might simply center within my own feeling of art.

old people and teens? seems that could make for some stimulating observations - have you ever noticed differences in their ways to approach the models with their pencils and brushes?
