No trick here just straight forward geo wow...
Up here native lore has 2 tricksters...the coyote which have become very abundant here...so watch your chihuahua...the other is the raven who brought the light to the north...but will as easily lead you astray and laugh at you...

Coyotes are North American ranging no further south than Central America, and indeed, have made a huge area their hunting grounds.... for sure watch your pets smaller than the coyote!

I hadn't heard about raven also sharing "trickster" with that wily animal. Cool.

Thx, Kurt.

coyotes have become abundant up here in the great state of Yew Nork over the past three decades or so - we have some that are larger than the rest - visibly bigger boned with skulls less pointed and more wolflike - theory is as coyotes migrated down here from canada they mated with the wolves in the canadian provincial parks - i don't know if that's what happened but i do know i wouldn't want to be surrounded by two of them without something substantial in my hand - enough of Coyote - i too very much enjoyed your piece here - i have great joy in the native art of the southwest - its playful geometries have always appealed to me - and your interpretation of those influences is a statement in itself - really enjoyed this Cec - and don't go smiling at me, ya ol' perv

There is actually a hybrid of coyote and wolf out there called the Coywolf. They are every where here too.
