I used to "dabble" in chalk drawings. Here are a couple from the '70s-'80s Jamaican reggae scene: ...

Bob Marley ("Rastaman Vibration"):

Puma Jones, from Black Uhuru:

Not great, but not bad...

Well, my browser is cutting the images in half for some reason. But I guess I'll leave the post up, at least for now.

Thanks everyone. Man my roommate used to listen to a lot of Bob Marley "back in the day" at the old house. I miss that place and those days. I still have a bunch of old mix tapes from the original "golden age of reggae." Maybe I'll get back into drawing/painting some day..

Is it chalk or is it pastels? I like pastels, but they are not as forgiving as acrylics. If you mess up with acrylics, at least you can paint over the mistake, or just complete gesso the entire painting. However, I do like the 'softness' of pastels. These are very nice.
