I remember seeing it...but it seems to have vanished ...like a faded melody...

Some words on my painting,

“Faded Melody”

This painting I named “Faded Melody”, (thanks to help from my mate, SooZen), which shows in the lower left and upper right, rather tattered pieces of music sheet for the song, “Granada”, originally written in 1932 by Mexican composer Agustín Lara, (10.30.1897– 11.6.1970 : born in Veracruz, Mexico having died in Mexico City at the age of 73) The song was very popular throughout much of the world, sung by many singers as it still has it's place in music history.

Another piece of the “faded melody” is not so much a song but definitely a memory left faded as it is a photo of a somewhat historical jail located in Baird, Texas, where this artist had spent incarcerated for 8+ hours! What a story!

See bottom right… another faded piece of the puzzle pictures a shot of the surrounding desert of West Texas and the large yuccas reaching upwards. As the population continues growing, the tentacle of humanity also continue spreading outwards, taking the place of the once wild and pristine landscapes that so fully identify the geography of the area, now more and more rapidly becoming but only “faded melodies” of the Songs of Nature which drew people into in the first place.

The three photos within this painting are my own from photos taken over the digital years of photography… a hobby of sorts that I find intriguing… a branch, if you will, of the various outlets of art that have grasped me and (thankfully) will not let go!.
