I shoot with a DSLR, which produces large images - 3888x2592 pixels, suitable for enlargement up to 24"x36". Each file can be anywhere from 4 to 6 megabytes. For uploading here (or for emailing), I shrink them down to maybe 10% or 15% of their original size, which makes them easier to handle, while only slightly compromising image quality.

I guess I should have said: if you DO resize your images for upload, DON'T - or shrink them by as little as possible. Otherwise, just keep doing what you do - upload them the same way you always have. I'll enlarge them as needed.
