I've been slow to return to the trails as well. I wouldn't characterize my excursions as "hiking" as much as "walking". My first 2-miler was a hurdle that I paid dearly for the next day. Now they just make me a little sore by the time I return to the trailhead, but ready for more the following morning. I also find I need to relearn how to see photographically - my ratio of keepers to "why the hell did I take this one?" is still low. But getting there. All we can do is chip away at it. Good to know you're still with us, just busy wrestling that demon we call "getting old".....

yes of course...the age factor is huge....in terms of recovery......the body i once knew has flown the coop.....the data is useless as I think, " I should be able to do this ".......but as you say we chip away......my new pattern is work a little for twenty minutes, and then rest.....drink a glass of water, and restrain myself from diving back in.....but as my daughter says, at least you figured that out.... :D ....take good care roy
