clowns & abstracts

This is the painting I've been working on. Scary. I'm almost finished. I took a photo of it and was so disappointed that it didn't show the layers of colors very well. So I used photoshop to try to get those colors to pop like they do on the canvas ... and it's close... but, I lost the shading on his face. Oh well.... Oh.. and on the painting, this clown's got glitter all over him. ;)

So, since I had the image in my computer, I figured I'd play with it some and came up with these variations of the clown.

Then, I took some of the areas of the original clown painting and turned them into these digital abstracts.

Wow - and I'm not joking - wow.
I was going to say that you should use one of those for a banner, and I see you have.
I can see why the clown was such a presence during last Friday's jam! Thanks for bringing him out to play!

Jenni & jimbo -
thanks for looking at my maniac clown and his altered states and my digital patters I got from portions of the painting. It was fun to create these! I appreciate your kind remarks very much!

I think the digital patterns would make for some pretty cool wrapping paper. Now all I need to do is find a wrapping paper distributer who wants to buy some of them. haha.... *sigh*... well, I can always dream.

As for the clown? He scared me so badly for 2 weeks, I'm so happy I'm finished with him but then again, I'm told that it is a series of paintings which make for a good show, so maybe I'll have to paint a few of his brothers before I get the carnival outa my head.

Thanks both of you! :)

i just love the colors
something that rings me back to childhood
the fascination with some colors,
and i didn't even know it.
transparent colored papers,
shiney metallic paints,
waiting to wake me up,
titillated by tints and horror
cracked into expanded aesthetics
marvelled into colored splashes
that soothe and conjure up long ago early memories
not recalled yet felt and welcomed.
