Nice! :)

Sympathies for the loss of your father. :(

Lovely tribute to the Fisherman.

Reminds me of this boat I took a photo of this summer.

Love the bird... and the trees are exquisite!

Is that a pencil sharpener and a carrot dancing in the air?

Fishing reel and a lure.....the reel was mine as a child, the lure was one of his faves...both date back to the early sixties...the boat was built by my father...the crow was his pet named after a character in Don Quixote, Sir Hector....

sighh..... obviously, I'm not a fisherman or I would have known what those were. I could see the fishing hooks or whatever they are called... heh... ;)

Now that you've offered this explanation of the elements in the painting, it makes it all that more of a special tribute!

Your father is smiling.

Interesting colors, really bright light on the boat, orange grasses too. A sunny early spring day, with a hint of green appearing in the grasses, just before the flowering with a hue of orange tint on white permeating the entire woods and the faint gray sky. Warm sunny front to lite cool away, and with his symbolic medallions as it were, reel and lure, and pet crow still with the old boat, mounted on blocks, floating in a grassy lake, all is well.

Nice to have that kind of freindship with a dad, I guess.

My dad died in March, 1948. My name is on his gravestone. I don't go by junior anymore.

Interesting concept. A memorial picture. plus that lure is radical, man. I see a face in there!
