Glasgow University

Post by bennie2 » June 2nd, 2008, 4:58 pm

I went to Glasgow University at the weekend with a friend from work. I took some photos. It's one of the oldest universities in Scotland. It was founded in 1451. It's also the 4th oldest university in the english speaking world.

Kinda makes me wanna get up and study something ...hallowed halls syndrome.

Thanks, Bennie. I see how the University of Toronto tried to emulate whatever it could from those mighty walls.

well... my university was an old (well... I guess not that old!) nuns convento! It´s without classes since the last weeks because a confrontation between students & authorities in relation with private security. And it´s not so clean, for sure!!!!!

I specially like the first & the medio punto? arcs photos!!!!!!! beautiful ones, as usual!!!!! thanks for sharing them!!!! :)

We have Flagler University, built in the late 19th century, so that's about 500 years after Scotty U.

I also appreciate this, as the connection with the ancients here is polluted by conquest and abandon.
