Photos taken in Largs

I've always found these poor, weather beaten remnants protruding from water to be sunk in loneliness, isolation and introspection. These are just off the shore of Largs beach in Scotland.

More loneliness... this shows Largs (small scottish coastal town) in the background

I came across this little object on the beach at largs. It's probably no more than a house brick, sculpted and made smooth by the water. I placed it on a green moss covered rock and photographed it. I've kept the orange brick.

Another found object. A wine glass with the base broken off was lying, nestled in between two rocks on the coast at Largs beach.

Detail of an old fishing boat grounded on the beach at Largs. I love the rust dust because it means decay and as Uncle Monty said in Withnail and I, "there can be no true beauty without decay."

This is another lonley looking photo I took while in Largs. I love how the inanimate object becomes animated, seeming to be looking out to sea, across to the land in the distance...

Enjoyed these, Bennie. The B&W's... the skies look so foreboding... a cold, loneliness that brings a wee bit of sadness and inner reflection to me.
The broken wineglass is a wonderful picture. One could write a story or two from the image's influence.
... and the brick, yes... I appreciate closeups of inanimate objects and this is no exception. A very abstract item and one that you will give a good home to, I'm sure.
... the color detail of the pulley piece - the rust and chipped blue paint are a nice contrast. I think this image would look powerful enlarged to a poster size (that and the wine glass).
Good eye... keep shooting.

wow.bennie, i love the pic of the broken wineglass in the water. the brick is something i wouldn't be able to resist rubbing between my fingers all the time. and i love the rusty blue old boatdetail. the first two would have me sitting on the dock, staring for hours. these are great pictures. thanks for sharing!

Very nice shots. Nice "eye".
The old beaten piers do seem to be the picture of lonely, fading contemplation... Reminds me of some of my desert corral shots.
Thanks.
