Solitary Man

These pics were taken a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Actually they were taken sometime in the early eighties. My Uncle, Aunt, and Cousin and I were on vacation on the coast of Maine. These are images overlooking the ocean on Mt. Desert Island. I felt so alone yet free back then.

beautiful new england. i may have sat upon those same rocks a few years ago

you look so young. i remember that feeling of aloneness and freedom in my youth too. one of promise.

Westie, you are right on. That transition from child to adult can make one feel lost and alone. Yet I felt so giddy with freedom then. Thanks for commenting.
SmileGRL, that was a very wise comment. Yes in the grand scheme of things we are always and never alone. There was an essay about that by early women suffragist Dorothy Stanton, called,"Solitude of the Soul." I always love your comments my friend.
