Snow on the bayou

Post by goldenmyst » December 11th, 2008, 4:03 pm

I awoke this morning to find my city blanketed in snow. This is a rare even down here in the deep south near the Gulf. So I walked around the university in the freezing rain to capture the event in images. Below are a few of them.

Unusual weather for you all, huh John!?

Thanks for sharing the photos.

They made me glad we haven't gotten hit yet. I'm not a fan of snow.

I do know it's coming though.

Working on trying to figure out where I can afford to retire where it's WARM!

;)

Cute snowman! :)

Doreen, glad you liked the snowmen. We got two inches of snow here. Just forty miles north they got four inches. I love snow. The last time we had a major snow was in 88'. I guess having it only rarely makes it an enjoyable event. If we had weekly blizzards I might reassess my feelings. ;)

that's how most of our winter looks here in ohio. icy & white. i LOVE the muddy disintegrating snowman in the 3rd picture! (...if you crop this picture so that it starts just above the snoman's head, it could be framable art...it's classic!!!)

Arcadia, that pic was taken on a pier over the university lake. Glad you enjoyed!

Dave, the university campus had several snowmen and the students seemed to be having a ball. :)

Jim, cool reply! Thanks.

SmileGRL thank you for the cool idea. I might try it. You always have an eye for creative photography. ;)
