Wow - wow & wow! I take it this is like a pledge & a celebration - I'd be in love with it for the origami alone but would be twice thankful should you open my eyes to what is happening here and why. Thx, Veronica.

dadio, mnaz & mingo: gracias for seeing! no, we weren´t conmemorating mnaz birthday (at least as far as I know...!

) - . It´s a collective origami plegado (specially made by kids from different schools and organizations) as an artistic and group way to manifest for world peace in the day the first atomic bomb was dropped. A way of remembering what happened that day, wish that won´t happen again and wondering about our daily war and peace while you make the little grullas with others, following -it seems- an old japanese tradition. Last year my students participated in that with a lot of enthusiasm (also their families). We sent the grullas we made joined in long threads to the organization and they did the installation. After school I went to the Flag Memorial to photograph the installation and show the children the pictures later. There was a deep silence at that moment there, and yeah, you could listen the sound of the little paper grullas moving in the wind...
for more details about the organization that promotes that every year:

What a wonderful thing to do! The inclusion of kids in this day of remembrance is especially nice so the children will at least know of that day which changed the world.
Also, the link you provided was very good and the fotos taken in your home town were almost as good as the one's you posted!
Gracias for the education, mi amiga mia.

I've looked at these photos a few times, so child-like and joyful!
I think of the song, "These are a few of my favorite things."
