Our second day in Santa Fe brought another beautiful day and clear skies. Saturday began with a nice breakfast in our hotel, The Lodge. which is billed as having the best views in Santa Fe. It does. While enjoying breakfast, the view scanned the town below where one could easily make out some well-known areas as well as some lightly snow-capped Sangre de Cristo mountains.

After breakfast we hopped a shuttle to downtown. There was a Bead Show going on which is initially what brought us here. The first venue was at the Santa Fe Convention Center which was a new place for me, not having been there for quite awhile. We were early so I did some walking around, camera in hand, enjoying the peace fullness of the morning and the pleasant surroundings which are so famous and picturesque.

Across the street from the Center is this Federal Court House and its unique rock work was a Kodak Moment -

Some of the Civic Center had some very interesting sculptures around the grounds -

On an adjoining patio this grand sculpture dominated the area -

... and a view from inside looking out to the same sculpture. (were they visiting for a moment before flying off..?)

The art were well represented inside the Civic Center also with this very dramatic wall piece looking down on the people in the lobby -

... and this piece made completely from found objects -

Across the street from the venue I took this morning shot of a typical street in Santa Fe, still quiet on a Saturday morning-

Enough for now with another series to come.

Thank you for looking.

so amazing sculptures, Cecil...!! loved them!!! :D Also wonderful to trip to a place called the same as my provincia but with a landscape similar to La Rioja!!! (the last photo, though, looked familiar.... it reminded me my city neighborhoods or little Santa Fe towns early in the morning...). Great to know that you had a good time there!!!!!!!

The fish sculpture was a delight, and I really enjoyed the street shot too. The shot of the deer sculpture set me back, the way it was posed left a beautiful aftershock in me. Thx, Cecil. Kayak season is still down the road a bit. Went north today scouting, there is still ice & snow up on Tug Hill Plateau and further east to the foothills and mountains but it is in the process of giving way to the approach of the season. Not yet but soon. The shore of Lake Ontario is ice-free everywhere I looked so we will be on the water here even sooner. I'll be sure to post once we get rolling. And you're right, after such a long winter it's difficult to be anything but in a hurry for spring to come on.

Gracias, amiga mia.... happy you enjoyed the photos (maybe a part 3 in due time). Surprised that Santa Fe is also in your country... and the photo shows a similarity! I would like to see that... do you have any fotos or links that may show the quaintness of the area?

... and el mingo, my friend... also glad you enjoyed the photo tour. upon reading your appreciation of the deer I was reminded of the artist you might enjoy checking out - Geoffrey Gorman : http://www.jsauergallery.com/sagemoon/a ... orman.html

...also there are 2 youtube vids on the man and his work.

Thanks again, Veronica y el Mingo. Nice seeing you...
