I'm a turtle...and well your not...so there.

Some say turtles are best for soup,
some say turtles are best left alone.
Some say turtles are cowardly and slow,
some say they are wise and just taking their time.
Some say the world rides on the back
of a giant turtle shell
and some think the life of a turtle
must be a slowly burning Hell.

There is a turtle Buddhist myth about reincarnation stating that your chances of your karma being reborn in human form are as if a turtle sitting at he bottom of the ocean ... a water buffaloes' yoke drifting aimlessly on the oceans' surface. The turtle surfaces once every 100 years to take a breath. Will it surface to rest in the middle of the yoke?

I love Buddhist stories and analogies. They are probably my favorite of all-time. If reincarnation is the big deal, there's no telling what we get to be next! Could be an alien, or an atom! Could be a blade of grass or even a thought! Could be a single word uttered from someone's mouth, being born in their mind and dying in sound waves.
