(actually this was - is - just over the border in Winchendon MA, but it eloquently screams "New England small-town politics". There's a reason, I think, beyond the farms being mostly idle, that town meetings are held in early March - winter drags on, cabin fever has gripped the land, and everyone is spoiling for a fight)
