Scar

Whiplashed by brush; scratched by thorns and a bum bumping numbing eternity; followed by an even longer wait - as we sat in our open 4x4 - Scar and part of his pride settled down, in the oppressive heat, about 3M (12feet) away.
What a gift. Imprinted indelibly.

Encountering a fellow earthling of such raw power quickly disabuses one of the conceit that we are Masters of the Planet. No lions over here (though rumors of cougar persist) - but I've been face to face with moose, bears, barracuda, and (once) a shark - and each time had the common sense to be afraid. Masters of the Planet, indeed.......
