I've always found it the most pensive time of year. Spring is joyous & optimistic - summer is languid, winter bracing - but fall is introspective, with just a touch of melancholy, perhaps......

thanks - hard to say which time of year is my "favorite" when they're all unique

btw, apropos of nothing - the Sip Pond photo was taken in Fitzwilliam NH, not Winchendon MA - just a short walk north of the state line. My oops.
