Rush hour tie up!
America's might, stopping rush hour traffic for about forty-five minutes. Seems like the navy could pull out at 4am instead of the morning rush hour. Go figure.

The harmless looking small boat in the bottom right hand corner of the above photo is one of six that escort any ships arriving or leaving the Yorktown Weapons Station. It is armed to the hilt and quite fast. Our homeland security at work.
I once witnessed these small boats escort an NOAA ship past the weapons station as if it might be a potential threat.

well they do that you know, because it exposes them to the public, merely a publicity stunt.
during the cold war, we were used to sonic booms, waves of planes flying overhead, heading up up and away!
around here, you'll see the occasional military plane flying low over the urban area, announcing their presence.
they should let them sail away. i was born there, by the way, fortress monroe. they said i came out with a full salute, signed by a marine doctor, but really i was born with a hard on.
