Got a pear tree in my back yard....not so prickly judging by the way the squirrels feast on them....

we got em out on the deck here in bawlmer, cactus are the best, especially wild ones, i saw some in the delaware dunes when we went to the beach last week........

Although catcus are a popular landscape item around here they are still rare.

Good specimen. They grow wild in many areas of the plains and I don't recall ever seeing one of that size. Most of the ones I've seen are so small and stubby that one must be cautious not to step on them. Small though they may be, their thorns can still pierce a tennis shoe. Far easier to avoid them when they are in bloom.
