Yep, almost spring. Time to clean out the guest house.

Yes, our feathered friends are out back right now, as we speak,
gathering twigs and branches and all manner of foofaraw suitable for nesting. Ahhhhhh spring, she sighed heavily...ahhhhh spring.

Looks like the guesthouse could use a coat of bird friendly paint, though I'm partial to the au naturel look myself. Isn't that home a little close to the ground? Rather a smorgasbord for cats I would think.

Cats? No cats around here. The other critters eat em.
And I do believe that is a Blue Bird house and for some reason everyone seems to have their's about the same height, around four feet. Now around here black snakes are the biggest threat to the Blue Birds.

Ya, cats have a hard go of it too sometimes, the neighbourhood cats here fall victim to the myriad coyotes and to the owls. God it's an awful sight to see an owl with a lovely cat in it's talons...turn about's fair play I suppose.

BLACK SNAKES! Oh, nature can be cruel, well, it's called nature for a reason I suppose. We have an abundance of magpies here that like to pluck the various little hatchlings from their nests. I fucking hate magpies. I don't think they really have much purpose. I know, I know, nature's way, nature's way, but I don't always have to like it.
