This farm implement plows a row, lays down irragation tape, covers the row and tape with plastic and buries the edges of the plastic. What a machine.

Hmmm, the final product. Well I'm not sure, I believe some type of mellon, honey-does I think, more like a cantalope than a water mellon. I am planning to run updated photos as the field grows. Thought that might be interesting. It will seem like over night as the soil disappears, covered by mellon vines.
Been a few years since mellons were grown in this field. When the mellons ripen on the vine they become no good for the market, won't last so the farmer picks them and lets them lay in the field for the picking. They still last for a few days at that point. Every night I would go over to the field and pick up a two discards, would never pick one off the vine, that's stealing and worth a butt load of buckshot. I would then put the two warm ones in the fridge and take the cold ones out. Man can't wait for mellon season.
What do you season your mellon with?

melones! cantalopes?? I'll be waiting for the photos!

"What do you season your mellon with?" con que condimento los melones? I don't use to eat mellons, they are too sweet. I prefer sandias.

Arcadia, it is not organic farming although advanced in ways it is still just basic farming. Soil, water, fertilizer and bug spray, and several bars of Ivory Soap placed around the fields edge to keep the deer away. They don't like people smells but they do fancy the young mellon plants.

Yes, deer.
Not a great photo. They are quite camera shy.
