speaking of the journey....

Post by mnaz » July 2nd, 2006, 10:37 pm

unauthorized bits of the 'in-between' ramble....

Image
oh, those powerline trails across the desert.... electric, at the time.

Image
dirt farm, near the arizona, mexico, and new mexico borders.... i was somewhat drunk at the time.

Image
white sands swoop, new mexico. i may have been somewhat drunk at the time. hard to say.

Image
heading out into southern nevada. not drunk at all in this shot. well, not really.

Image
catlow rim, eastern oregon, drunk on its own quiet.

unauthorized, all of them.

it's been a long time since i've felt the energy of the desert SW
when i was there i swore it had to be the center of universal energy
whatever it is...i've missed it and your photos bring back the sensations of being there...thanks for sharing them

the last one is closest to the view just outside the barracks i was staying in

I like that first one it looks like the wires are coming from the hills and they are drawing energy from those hills.

thank you all...

and jimbo.... excellent retouch of the powerline shot, and combining thread comments into.... (poetry).... and Dave.... great perception (and inspiration). I may have to write a paragraph or two on that, considering how much time i've spent following the powerlines in the last few years....

ah th road goes on
merciful dreamscapes
real for th desert wanderer
such a pure horizon
sweeping planes, arcs, points,
how does one describe such alandscape?
