If I could open a dream...

Post by izeveryboyin » March 17th, 2007, 1:35 pm

...I would pull my grandmother from it's cushions and have her to myself, as beautiful and radiant as she ever was. Next Sunday is her 75th birthday... and there will be no cake or party... there will be no song and dance. She is done celebrating because she is done living, and it's so very unfair.

i amaze myself how sometimes i channel my grandmother. A walk, a pose, a sudden sweater falling from my shoulder. We are our family and we do the DNA boogey.
And our grandmothers know we do.

Yes, it's unfair that life ends but then again, she is always with you.

And she is beautiful!

I see the family resemblance. :)

I know how hard it was for you to lose her.

Find her in you by celebrating her birthday even though she won't be there to blow out the candles! Why not?

She'll be smiling and grateful.

:)

thanks guys. You're all very sweet. I definitely got screwed with this though b/c my emotions are on high def thanks to being pregnant. Besides that, I have never had to deal with the death of someone so very close to me. I havent yet learned how to cope, even 6 months after the fact. What can I say? I suppose I can only hope that the memories grow stronger and the pain grows less. Wish me luck.
