Thanks. I use various hardwoods sometimes joining different types of wood together such as Walnut and Hickory. I also inlay and join antler in the making of my sticks along with stones.

these are great, I knew an old guy who passed away a few years ago that made these as well.....he used to look for these knurled vines along streams, did beautiful work......I may need one of these soon myself......when the time comes, I'll be looking for something like this with style, while solid enough to crack a mugger over the noggin......ahh, city life.....

Ash, Dogwood, Hickory and Hop Hornbeam(iron wood) make for good walking sticks and hard head cracking.
