i don't see the Stendhal piece above.

thanks for connecting :)

you know a lot about art. i don't but i love it.

just hung a big nude painting today. by the deceased Montreal artist "Leibovitch". his son lives in the suite below me. He's selling his father's collection with the exception of pieces that have been donated (one hangs in Jerusalem) or are being kept by the family or friends.

when i figure out this link thingy I will post a pic for you :)

I thought we were cyber pals, but I will let that slide

pretty obvious I know nothing about art.

Yeah for some reason Stendhal Red and The Black came to mind.

So I gather that black has something to do with death

I should have known that.

there is a material made out of carbon nano tubes that is supposed to be 900 times blacker than any other black.

yes white is the new black and dead is the new eighty.
don't mean nothing just thinking about a cartoon called BLISS i read last week

Wandering far afield maybe
"the Greeks thought with their eyes" googling some stuff on time when I read that quote, it was a criticism of greek thought it seemed.

art is thinking with my eyes but my eyes are bigger than my brain it seems. i am always seeing art that leaves me clue less.

lol!!! ;)

if art leaves you gobsmacked that's great - art's work is done and it can lay back with a beer, watch the game and belch with impunity.

apparently, vortex shedding in the cylinder flow of shear-thinning fluids causes variation of the Strouhal number (black symbols). i was totally unwares of that. i believe we are onto something. just hope we don't fall off!

that is really cool! i would love to see it. blacker than a crow's eye?

ta. have a good time in your whereabouts.

yes
thanks for the link

I am so far in over my head with art, worse than that I am a poser with the red square painting. I just like that poem Magic Square. I was wondering about Constantine's question about the grass under the snow, was he joking I should ask him.

Any way the poem seemed like a gestalt
like looking at a painting in a way
abstract, was the poem abstract
can a poem be abstract
anyway the only abstract painting I could think of was Red Square which I only knew of because of a detective novel called Red Square by the guy who wrote Gorky Park.

so there it is
I wish I could have thought of another painting Like the Metaphisical Landscape by Orozco, love that painting grabbed my eyes although I have only seen it briefly.

I never put a revolver in my mouth, although I did try to hang mself when I was about eightt, just fooling around with a belt, a coat hook when I was locked in a closet for punishment. Scared me, even to this day I can't wear a turtle neck. And in the sixties I used to go to bed with the image of a rifle pointed up under my chin. I could not get to sleep with out imagining that rifle there.

I wish I could have thought of a Rothko painting I saw once.

that is all
blurt, blurtus, blurtium
fee fie fo
cheers

When it comes to art, I just fell off the pumpkin wagon.

good night
talk at you later I hope
just another spontaneous ramble
open text box go
Sometimes I feel like I have aphasia, like the bear in the old Pogo comic strip that could write but not read, I have heard it can actually happen with some brain injuries.
and I am nothing if not brain damaged tonight
I head feels like toast.

ps I think women can't get enlightenment is something like a koan maybe, not sure if you glanced at the article.

"the way of not getting it"

you know plenty about it all ready I am sure
took me a while to get it
cause men can't get enlightenment either

I am still reading that poem "magic square"
still don't "get it"
but I just woke up thinking about it

rabbit ears
and an ermine remote

hole in the wall
where the eletricity leaks

reading lolita
in tehran

Adam And Eve
at the north pole

polar
paradise

I suppose since this is a thread I started i can ramble with it

if you meat kerouac on the road
buy him a beer
if you meet jim morrison on the road
give him a shot
if you meat buddha on the road
tickle his belly
if you meet me
just wave
