I would be more tranquil if I would trust more in what my government is doing nowadays with their indoors cuentas, but... well... maybe we just need to eat less...!

Dear Mr. Singer and friends: Argentines have faced you for quite some time now, especially this year, and will continue to do so. The world is watching increasingly interested how this confrontation of a country that honors its debts and duly cancels them, and a group of speculators who insist on flapping like vultures evolves. These vultures no longer fly over a moribund economy. And the whole entire world has realized that to recover from this global crisis, it needs real investors and entrepreneurs, not vultures.

Today was the graduation acto for the 32 seventh grade students whom I was in "charge" this year (yeah, the intifada like ones, the broken arm ones, those ones among others... :) ). And yesterday was the meetings with the parents of 6th and 7th grade for signing evaluations and notifiying that some of them have to continue until december 20 th ... All went smooth, moving & also funny, they (also I) enjoyed the ceremony and also the byes-byes. Yesterday only one mother among the 54 pupils I had this year showed -with must of all non-linguistic communication- that I (and some other personal of the school) were some kind of evil witches, but at this time I already know it´s somehow inevitable...! Nevertheless, today she and her daughter were the last ones deciding to leave the school during the festejos that followed the graduation act ... and yeah, they´ll have to return on monday...

Now, however, the word “insurgent” has been completely defiled and is used today to refer to all sorts of rubbish recruited from all corners of the world who are high on drugs and murdering Syrians for money.
only read one link so far, Voltaire.

following the news in the caso Marita Verón, even tough I missed the marcha ... It´s admirable her faith in the apparition of her daughter and her force ... also how her pain and lucha made space for the liberation of other women in trata conditions ...

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/socie ... 12-15.html

sad also to know about Chavez´s health conditions, here it was an important issue in our media during the whole week ...

19 and 20 of december are sentitive days for my country since 2001, each year oddly something out of schedule seems to happen ... or are we just expecting that?, or is it the feast & end of the year thing that adds a little to the material malestar of our people? or ...? :?

http://www.clarin.com/sociedad/Bariloch ... 16963.html

last friday there was an "alerta" of saqueo in Rosario´s downtown spread in annonimous way through the social-nets ... nothing happens, luckily ... but the negocios shut down their doors before time and there was a fear atmosphere ...

good news: a coworker kept trapped by water in Avenida Circunvalación this morning while she was trying to arrive to school ... the water entered the already inmovil car ... she called the school and also her husband in tears and with high ammount of terror ... (she was in an inundado neighbourhood some blocks near the school called "La lagunita" that giving honour to its name at that moment was a lake ... ) the people were protesting in the streets, she thought they could damaged the car, injured or robbed her ... but the people helped her to put the water out of her car and kept with her doing compañía in a friendly and solidarity way until the grúa arrived ... life give you surprises, sometimes ...

Sorry to hear about the riots they sound bad,
but it is
good to hear your friend is okay.

I don't feel so much fear as anger these days. I was thinking about politicians, I was trying to compare Hilary to your Kitchner. From what I have read of Kitchner I think she has more balls than Hilary. Here in the united snakes it is all about integrity, :(
Hilary a model for american integrity dodged the inquiry into Benghazi, she is a doofus, a smart educated doofus. And what is worse the name mentioned to replace her is another doofus, it's the guy who ran against Bush in 2004, John Kerry, or as e_dog calls him John "I can kill them better" Kerry.

Not to be confused with this Kerrey who would be a great secretary of state, maybe the man to end our state of forever war.

I hope

yeah, the event changed her view about the people in that barrio, she was very moved ...! :)

& like a box of chocolates ... ... yeah! Happy summer!

last night the school´s neighborhood was complicated ... two supermarkets were saqueados in the three blocks radio, and one more in a ten blocks radio ... and yeah, the Lagunita had more than one meter of water ... People in the barrio didn´t sleep and the owners of little shops remained in their places during all the night listening to shots all the time (according with what some students´s parents told me this morning). In the school and most part of the barrio the electric energy it´s gone since two days (that´s there can be a big problem...).

you can't open you heart to every one
just a small circle of friends.

excellent article 8)
thank you
it was
grist for the mill
not sure how the old english idiom would translate into Spanish
All things are a potential source of profit or advantage.

thinking about your friend finding those helpful strangers, a mitzvah I think the old folks used to call it.
a song about the murder of a woman in NYC fifty years ago
I used to be smart.

"todo es harina para el molino", we also have this miller´s saying! :)

gracias for the song s-t, I´ll listen to it!

some links about last thursday & friday "saqueos" that now are already called "robberies made mostly for socially-vulnerable young men of marginal neighborhoods instigated for delincuentes and narcotraficantes (Sta Fe version)/ for politics & sindicalistas against the government (National version)" :

http://www.lacapital.com.ar/la-ciudad/J ... -0011.html (I found interesting reading this article, next year I´ll have again kids between eleven and fourteen in the "conflictive zone" as students ...)

the government maybe it´s right in its 100% conspirative theory about desestabilization but when 100% theorys were right ever?? ... at the same time I feel it too much dialogue-blind and defensive ... I wonder if that kind of extremely self-afirmative attitude helps all the time ... :?

http://www.lacapital.com.ar/politica/El ... -0032.html

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/elpai ... 12-24.html (opinion of a gremialista now on the gobierno´s side...)

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/elpai ... 12-24.html

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/elpai ... 12-24.html

on the other side, Moyano (sindicalista that now is opposed to the goverment and for years was the "beloved child" of Kirchner´s government...) said that the government caused this for "victimizarse itself" ... well, if that consciously happenned we are totally crazy ...

http://elsolonline.com/noticias/view/15 ... victimiza-

& I guess these kind of opinions have a lot of resonance nowadays in my city:

Floods, robberies, riots, murders, sounds just like home. But I did not see any mass murders, I don't think a week goes by here where we don't have one here. This week it was fireman coming to a fire who got murdered, the arsonist waited in ambush to kill them.

Also this week I heard someone from a big oil pipeline company label a woman an "Eco-terrorist because she built a tree house in a tree slated to be cut down to make room for another pipeline. Everything that is against a corporation is a terrorism threat to us I suppose.

I hardly ever read the San Antonio paper.
