a Verbitsky´s article about why our actual president will won again today´s elections. I´m not so sure as him about the reasons, but it´s a good article even though it ended talking about Duhalde and the SS... . See:

I´m enough happy with yesterday´s elections even though I already knew that the person I voted (trying to choose the less bad and thinking in the importance of some more or less capable opposition) wouldn´t won: I listened to a bit dizzy, very moved and more moderated an humble CFK (it´s still very difficult for me to empatizar and simpatizar with the hinchada-peronista-ardor-atmosphere sorrounding and dialoguing with her while she was giving her discourse, though ... ). I share some of her & her party visions & government actions (others not) and I really hope she can do her best for our country ! :D
In Santa Fe we´ll have the difference-sign for some years, I also hope it won´t be a too much heavy load for our local governments...

another article about the reasons of our president´s victory in the elections:

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/elpai ... 10-25.html

& yesterday after going to sleep & trying to end and endless job´s work I saw & listen to Hillary playing Cruela but with a sort of happy-hour NY mood (on CBS replayed by Telesur)... for the tone of the conversation you couldn´t be sure if she was talking about her last shopping-day, her last lover or what... ... yeah, life is really weird sometimes ...

meanwhile, it seems this also happened...

Hello Arcadia here in your new art spot.
Cheers, cheers from me to you.

gracias, vecina!

the tapa of the newspapers here yesterday (both oficialists as Pagina/12 and in the opposition as Clarín) was the dollar (no, we aren´t in USA..)... There are new medidas for stopping capitales go to other countries. Here´s the news´s today:

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/econo ... 10-30.html
http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/econo ... 10-30.html

from the last article:

reading this alone it has sense, what it not has sense is:
- that the annual inflation here is far away from the 30% -the government INDEC lies saying is more or less 12% and everybody knows about it...-. That now buying first necessity articles here costs more than in the first world countries and yeah, the salaries had risen but the prices more... (in clothes, from one temporada to other more than the 100%).
. If the salaries rise 30% each year and the dollar cambio remains the same we´ll earn salaries -in dollars- similar to the ones in the first world countries. I like science fiction but....mmmmmmm
. We have a memory of inflation-devaluation cycles each more or less 10 years
. We are more in personal debt and more materialistics than ever ...
. The government is sucking fondos from the Caja de Jubilaciones to stabilize the dollar prices ... When you know how are the conditions of the PAMI hospitals and think in the future of the jubilaciones that doesn´t sound good...

I´m not for escatology, but I know that if you let open too much doors to that it´s quite possible that catástrofe happen. The economic catástrofe here it would be a suddenly big devaluation but it´s also already a neverending inflation carrear... Why we have inflation? I guess because the government spends more than it collects, print too much money ... but is only that?. It´s still a misterious kind of process to me.

This situation allows place to this kind of aviso for investors (I found it yesterday in the right column for publicity in the online edition in english of The New York Times, today it dissapeared). The first part didn´t say nothing most of the people already know here, the second only offers individual & material salvation for the rich ones... so sad.

Our servant, the mind

When we look for the mind, we can't find any shape, or color, or form. This mind that we identify as the self, which we could call ego-mind, controls everything we do. Yet it can't actually be found—which is somewhat spooky, as if a ghost were managing our home. The house seems to be empty, but all the housework has been done. The bed has been made, our shoes have been polished, the tea has been poured, and the breakfast has been cooked. The funny thing is that we never question this. We just assume that someone or something is there. But all this time, our life has been managed by a ghost, and it's time to put a stop to it. On one hand, ego-mind has served us—but it hasn't served us well.

– Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, "Searching for Self"

yeah, it´s October the 30th ... I´ll be careful with the fantasmas...!

Boudou (the actual minister of economy and elected vicepresident) explains...

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/ultim ... 10-31.html

I guess that alone sounds good but it doesn´t explain why the inflation keeps going on and what they, us or both can do to stop it.

some specialists give some ideas:

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/econo ... 10-31.html

(Martín Burgos´s articles explains somehow why the dollar´s precio didn´t change much since 2009 but I still can´t understand why the inflation has to happen... :? )

next photo is somehow thrilling ... I hope they´ll talk about constructive things!:

"The dollar´s not almighty anymore"... interesting to know another view about China´s economy... :

http://www.counterpunch.org/2011/11/01/ ... y-anymore/

have you heard about Augusto Boal´s "Theatre of the oppresed"?. At first, the term/ idea "oppresed" sounds maybe too neat and maybe too much ´70 & freirean but what they propose through art is very interesting. I have some friends related to that and I want to go as público participante when they show the work of their talleres. Here´s the site if you are interested:

it seems our elected vicepresident suddenly woke up again as a economy minister after the elections...! :): cut of subsidios for gas, electricity and water to what...? I didn´t knew these prices were subsidiados for that kind of empresas in first place..! A bit late maybe, but it sounds good! & it´s also a reminder that the common citizen´s prices for gas, electricity and water are also subsidiados at the moment...

it seems it´s a good thing that the UNESCO didn´t have a sort of Security Commission, so there was a place there for Palestine... even though, USA abundó with its own "gesto aleccionador" ...

I don't know why that phrase keeps echoing around in consciousness. Nothing to do with Palestine. When Ever I think about the near east my head hurts. Where is the near east, somewhere between the west and the middle east I guess.

Thanks for starting an artlog, I don't feel so embarassed about my rambling ways here.

I will read the links latter. I have a dim awareness of what it refers to, it has been coming for months that Unesco vote. I don't understand what we are objecting too. I will know more after I read your links later. Just got off work my eyes blurr from staring at computer screen.
