Jam here through the holidays!

Post by Doreen Peri » December 20th, 2011, 10:45 pm

Welcome!

Post your spontaneous poetry & images to this thread. Bring your own muse or get inspired by the muse of others.

Seasons cycle,
daylight wanes then brightens,
all life renewed by light & rhythm,
the insistence of an incessant star dance,
our earth on a tilted axis drawing a circle
around the sun, and the whirl of life revolves.

Though we cannot solve a winter
mystery, we can discover our journey
connected to each other, lovers of
words and art in an infinitely creative universe.
Because together we can light the world!

A

quiet fall

of snow

whitens night's field

unwritten, sandlike

upon tomorrow's shore.

Tomorrow is the blessed eve

Lords and Ladies, leaping,

dancing, holy abandon, ecstatic rites.

In dense, secret forest, legends gambol, rise

honorably to masters, age in inebriates.

Spirits imbue damp, fresh scent.

Words melt, evaporate, flavor brew

of ancient melodies, renewed

each Winter's Eve.

Picture each animated creature enlightened

Each candle warmly, brilliantly ignited

Animated faces dance with excitement

Creature comfort gifts encircle trees

Enlightened pleasures whirled in peace

Winter's doorway

The magick of night

The clearness of cold

Stars glittering tales so old

Cradle, caress, with blessing

Saints, sages, wizards, mages

Message writ on high, in constellations

we stop to see, to read.

Cold is slowness, a force

of inertia, a space,

a pause in time.

Dark carries reflection -- any

fancied face or fortune

could be in reach.

Seasons speak

call in hues, in moods.

We praise passages, echo rites.

Children chasing Moonbeams

to believe in hope, joy, love

because we need the light,

the warmth, the colours.

Joyful Season to all ~

One candle, then two,
each lit from the other,
sister to sister, brother
to brother,
we can light the night
around the globe,
a love-flicker, bold and brave,
a wave of illumination,
the creation of hope.

And the libra moon shines.

run and swirl with the winter leafs
some kinda acid coming down
softening the souls of some

trippin´
on care
on giving
chearing
thumping
bumping
words for small feelings
on the border of love
and forgiveness

BEANS FROM UNESCO
By Steve Plonk

Beans, they make our vision smart,
Right on, right from the start,
Beans such a wonderful fruit,
Jelly beans are especially cute...

Love them beans & they love me,
We eat them beans from sea to see
We eat them whether high or low,
We eat them rain, sun or snow,
Beans, they make vision start,
Beans by truckload cart...

Oh yeah, sweet beans either jelly or Boston,
Green, French, no matter what they costs 'em,
Such lima beans we mix with corn a-dash,
Makes that wonderful succotash,
Or if we mix limas & corn in fifty-fifty,
The results when boiled is really nifty...

Beans by the truckload cart,
Beans get us going from the start,
Beans are such a wonderful veggie fruit,
Jelly beans are especially cute...

Black-eyed peas are really kinda beany,
Then mix 'em with cornbread to
Make it less grainy,
New Years Day with a mess of collards,
With a dash of vinegar in our innards...

Beans, my friends, make brains really smart,
Get up with vigor with beans for your heart,
Eat messes of beans in beanie-weanies
We never can forget those chili beanies...

If everyone had a mess of beans,
None would go starving,
With just a bit of lamb to be carving,
Add 'em to rice and make a type of pilaf,
Of that concoction one can never get enough...
Beans, beans, for a hungry world,
Beans in a new green spring under
UNESCO flag unfurled... :)

The least amount of daylight in an orbit
'round the sun, winter solstice comes and
we hum a rotation song, long for a new spin,
light another candle which resembles
a spirit-spark within, and oh how we are
connected, another year's days inspected
one by one, our lives having touched by
words we've spoken, our beings a woven
fabric and it is magic, indeed, magic,
the way our lives mesh, each holiday
a stage play, some having
exited, some who still remain,
memories tied together
with a bow.

May the northern hemisphere
Winter sun find you warm,
In the southern hemisphere spring,
May you with the birdies sing...

May the gifts of the seasons
Keep on giving
No matter where in the globe
We happen to be living...

There are seven billion of us
Here on this fair terra,
Let's all celebrate the time we have
Together, online,
Let's not be "contrera"...

We move around during
These holiday times, entralled,
Lighting candles, giving,
Festive gifts to all...

We celebrate the dark turning into light,
Not letting loved ones far from our sight...

Apple blossoms

and cherry trees

lumps of coal

and bumble bees

a scrap of paper

and one blue eye

a couple of trucks

passing by

cardboard boxes

and radios

a piece of glass

and two big toes

a string of lights

and a can of corn

a baby seal

that just got born

a pair of slippers

under a bed

a broken cookie

and a dog named Fred

nothing profound,

nothing deep,

i just thought i'd write

'cause i couldn't sleep.

It's puzzles in the boxes
and in the wrappings.
I tied a little ribbon round the middle,
to clasp things.

I'm picturing her already
falling to pieces for over and over,
"Where does it fit."
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!

the roller coaster
is slowing down
(weather pirouettes
gave us common ground)
time to jump -lightly-
or rest in our seats
