Penny Haiku Doodles (1-20)

PENNY HAIKU DOODLES (1-20)

1) craft of poetry
is words to kiss
biz

2) cup on table
lush aroma
of coffee

3) black umbrella
sits forlornly
awaiting rain

4) cookbook has
scents of attempts
on recipes

5) teabag knick-knacks
‘will hold teabag’
As they say

6) phone sits
like a poised
clapper under
A bell

7) old man
tells of surviving
years of doodles

(8) ‘doodle-bug’
says Tom,
is name of poem.

9) Sunday sidewalk
says “Bill & Mary waited
In the sand”

10) I came running
absurdly smiling
thru blanket fog

11) hoot is name
of our wise-pinned
wall hanging by Mark.

12) childlike at times
come sketches
called doodles

13) night time...
I wish a star
would fall

14) men & women
touch & fondle
joy of nearness

15) ties of railroad
tracks smell
of molded pitch

16) Is that a bum
I see basking
In the sun?

17) Yes, he is
a blissful
merry bum.

18) yes, she says,
the room is dark
but I conserve
my light
for darker days

19) Y’know there are
so many gals I let go
of in life—
it’s great to hold a wife/

20) Our lives are
a Carolina beach
Blanket fog
warm & cuddly
As that mist/

very nice! (and 1978 - the spring i came to israel for a month's vacation and simply stayed)

i love all of them, especially
black umbrella
sits forlornly
awaiting rain
how i know that feeling

Judih, Glad you liked my "Penny Haiku Doodles". I have many more of them to offer. Any encouragement helps...I thrive on readership. I am very fond of your haiku type poems, too. I still have many other poems in what I nickname "The Vault"...old notebooks and so on...

Hope you get some rain in the desert soon. We've almost resembled a desert around here until today. Finally, after six weeks without rain, we got some. It was a "gully washer"!
