“Cat Scat Penny Haiku”
By Steve Plonk

a)
There’s a smell wafting through the air
Coming from our litter box right over there
Please scoop it there & scoop it here,
Oh please scoop our litter box:
Get up from your chair.

b)
When you scoop our litter box
It helps us with our biological clocks
We know when it is time now
We cry loudly & sometimes yowl…
While you're watching the "idiot box"...

c)
A little mess here, a little mess there
Soon adds to the smell within in the air,
Sometimes we think caretakers have no
Sense of smell,
It’s hard to know , it’s hard to tell.

d)
Oh please scoop our litter box:
Get up from your chair!
Are you deaf in one ear?
Can’t you hear us yell?
Oh, please clean our litter box.
Then we’ll be able to chill…

BATMAN ROBOT CAUGHT THE DZHOKHAR
By Steve Plonk

Batman robot caught the Dzhokhar,
That ethnic Chechen didn't get too far,
After he fled from that stolen car...
They converged upon him in a backyard boat,
Captured that bloody Dzhokhar sloat...

Dzhokhar was such a stone faced killer,
That he ran over his own dead brother...
Hope he's thrown under the jailhouse,
Because Dzhokhar is a bombing killer louse...

Boston, I hope, will now rest in ease,
Now that those Chechen bombers
Aren't in the breeze...

PENNY HAIKU #171
(FOR MY WIFE, YOUR MOM)
“Defibrillator”
By Steve Plonk

All I know is that I want your love.
All I know babe is that I want your love.
Want you so bad, can’t sleep at night—
All I know, babe, is I need your love…
I used to work from dusk till dawn,
When I’d get home you’d get it on.
Defibrillator, that’s me, need to stay in sight--
All I know , babe, is I need your love at night,
Hey, I remember the way it s’posed to be,
We did each other into ecstasy.
All I know, honey, is I want you badly.
Want you just for me…Defibrillator…
The older I get, the more I want,
I can’t get enough of your tough love—
I 'm your love “defibrillator”.

“Chatty Cats Haiku: The Duke of Chow”
By Steve Plonk
a)
Our old maine coon cat is the Duke of Chow,
He squalls next to the fridge & wants dinner now…
He loves “friskies” & “feline ID”,
He loves tuna & tuna water, chicken & chicken broth,
He practically makes gobbling sounds…
b)
When dinner time comes rolling around—
He’s pacing “to & fro” & practically getting under foot,
His antics are amazing to behold because he
Was once the Count of Broth when he was younger---
Lovely to see him so eager to eat his “pasty food”
To savor one more meal each day, to abate his hunger…
c)
For our old maine coon cat is ailing & may soon
Pass away…Poor feller has thyroid disease,
So he rests plenty & takes his ease,
Between marches for his meals with cheese…
Presently, his food & fresh water keeps him going—
We love him dearly, want to keep his life glowing…
d)
Maine coon “ labels” his food dishes & even” labels” the fridge,
Gently rubbing up against objects or persons that he
Leave his scent upon, he smells like fresh canned fish—
We try to give him his every wish for food in his dish…
He marches up & down next to the kitchen cabinet
Where his dry food is kept, like he is on guard duty.
e)
His marching tune may go like this:
“Yes, I am the Duke of Chow, chow, chew…
Prancing marching as I mow, wow, mew--
Marching , dancing for my breakfast
Marching for my lunch, my pasties meal,
Be it brunch or lupper, mow, mwew, wow,”
f)
“My evening meal makes me chew the mosts,
Thank you, thank you, my sweet hosts,
Mwew, mew, meow, wow, wow,
For taking such care with every meal,
I think you may tell I’m grateful for my chow,
For I do my dinner march with
Gusto & great zeal…”
g)
“Meow, mew, meow mew,
Oh how I love the flavors
That I chew,
So you may call me now,
The wonderful Duke of Chow,
For I am not ready to leave just now.”…
Think this poem is childish prattle?
I don’t mind holding the rattle.

Then there’s our Duchess of Plum…

“Chatty Cats Penny Haiku: The Duchess of Plum”
By Steve Plonk
a)
“Yum, yum tummy yum yum”,
She purrs after her meals—
Here’s to our Duchess of Plum,
“I’m a cat of some renown,” she squeals,
Like she was a little guinea pig,
Eating with finesse & resting,
Since eating food she's been testing,
On her plum colored pillow,
Next to pink sheet couch covers,
After dancing a jig…
b)
“Yum, hum, nummy, num, num”
She purrs as she hums…
Our orange tabby cat,
For special treats is quite savvy,
“Snuffy meat snuff”, she snorts,
Like a little guinea pig she retorts:
c)
“Wheet, wheet, wheet, my meat treat
Makes me inspired to dance my feet.”
She laughs her kitty laugh, scoots her kitty bowl,
Shakes her jowls, & sneezes,
“I’m the duchess, & I’ll do as I pleases…”
d)
I’m the Duchess of Plum,
If my buddy, the Duke, gets treats,
I certainly also must get some eats”…
“I even eat some table scraps—
Especially chicken which falls
Out of their wraps…” says eager
Kitty Duchess of Plum…
“Meowww, Please do give me some…”
“Oh, mearr, mearrr, Do please get some
More ‘Bonita fish Kitty Caviar’ “

I am soon going to retire this thread. Comments will be closed. Soon I will be starting
"Some Penny Haiku, Part 5" here at the Artlog instead of at the Poetry forum. It is getting
hard to keep up with the thread, with so many posts...
