LEE , ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY
(Penny Haiku Series)

By Steve Plonk

a)
Lee, my new cat
Jumped up on the couch
Sat by me by the heater vent...

b)
She is part Maine coon,
Part domestic dark tabby
With brindle stripes...

c)
Only a year &
A few months old,
She's a rambunctious
Cat chow chewer--

d)
She plays "roller ball"
On her circular track
Loves to fetch "fuzzy" ball
Brings it back...

SIX MONTHS WITH LEE (Our new Cat)
By Steve Plonk

a)
Six months in June, we celebrate
Being caregivers for our cat, Lee
A cat who’s as frisky as she can be
A lover of her daily chew
A cat who made all things new…

b)
Her personality is upbeat & young
She’s always in search of the chase & fun
She thrives on attention like a dog
She loves her chews & eats like a hog
We had to cut back on some of her feed
So she wouldn’t get to fat & go to seed

c)
We love Lee, who is so sweet,
Who plays with fuzzy & bell balls so neat
She loves her roller-ball track too
She always is looking for things to do
In precious space, we are part of her crew…

d)
Recently we cleaned up our screened porch
We introduced it to precious primrose Lee
She enjoys bird watching in our poplar tree
She looks high up in the branches and at the irises below,
Last winter she saw her first brand new snow…

e)
Now, deep in midsummer, at the time,
Lee keeps fun & frolic always on her mind
She is still a young pussy cat, you know,
Still less than three in years--
Of other cats, she has no fears,
She’s met Chaps & Jett through the screen,
In the morning mist which hangs above the dew
Today she met the other neighbors gray cat, too…
